Struggling to Breathe

Each gasp echoed through the chamber, a desperate plea for oxygen. My lungs seized, a searing pain that made every inhalation an agonizing struggle. The air around me was heavy, a tangible barrier preventing the life-giving gas from reaching my craving lungs. My vision tunnelled, and waves of dizziness plunged over me, threatening to pull me into the abyss of unconsciousness.
